Suspension travel is useless without the right kinematics and we have kept that in mind in the design of the Stumpjumper EVO. With what we learned in the development of the Enduro and with over 1000 hours of field and laboratory testing, we greatly improved pedaling and created the feeling of ability, efficiency and liveliness that everyone appreciates. We’ve increased the anti-squat so that the suspension resists the bobbing better, and we’ve also improved shock absorption on sharp obstacles. Simply put, the Stumpjumper goes down with complete control and rises with agility.
The "S-Sizing" geometry of the Stumpjumper EVO is the most progressive. Long, low, relaxed, short offset fork, a steeper column-make you pedal better. But the perfect geometry can be different for different bikers, that’s why for the Stumpjumper EVO you can adjust it to six different positions. Not only can you raise the bottom bracket by 10mm, you can also adjust the steering angle up to two degrees. Finally, if you like mullet, for the Stumpjumper EVO you can mount the 27.5" wheel on the rear in combination with the 29" front.
Rider-First Engineered technology is a tailor-made approach to design to ensure the same ride characteristics for all sizes. So if you’re not really a giant and you pedal an S1, or if you do need the long S6, you’ll face the curves with the same confidence, with an equivalent balance of stiffness, all at the lightest weight possible.
In 2016, we introduced the SWAT² compartment into the Stumpjumper’s chassis to store pumps or other items to repair a puncture. Now, for the Stumpjumper, we’ve increased the space even further by introducing a vessel, the SWAT somebody. Bladder, that allows you to carry 650 ml of water into the oblique tube - the same amount as a water bottle.
